CBSE 10th and 12th Board Exams 2025 Guidelines: Central Board of Secondary Education is scheduled to conduct the CBSE 10th and 12th board examination from 15 February 2025 onwards. Students have started to revise the syllabus and now looking for the official guidelines of CBSE to attempt the question paper.

CBSE 10th and 12th Board Exams 2025 Guidelines

CBSE conducts CBSE 10th and 12th Board Exams 2025 class annually across the country where million of students appear in the examination. CBSE provides marks of each subject but also follows grading system to prepare the result of the students. CBSE 10th Board Passing Marks 

CBSE 10th board examinations are the first stage of the career various Trends are required to  achieve good marks to get admission in their dream courses. However the selection of the courses in 11th class are based on higher marks in 10th class but it will not affect the passing result of the candidate, so if the student achieve at least minimum passing marks then he will also be called a 10th pass candidate without and discrimination.

Board is conducting practical as well as theories examinations for most of the subjects. Where candidates are required to achieve at least 33% marks in their theories as well as practicals separately and the combination of the electrical and theory should also be more than 33% which are the minimum qualification marks.

CBSE 12th Board Passing Marks

Most of the subjects in 12th class are including practical’s as well as theoretical examinations. However question paper of the theoretical examination is set with maximum 100 marks where candidates are required to achieve at least 33 marks to qualify in this examination. Apart from this they are also required to achieve more than 33% marks in their practical’s. So it will come mindly prepare the final marks of subject which should also be more than 33%.

Apart from subject wise clearance, candidates are also required to achieve overall 33% marks in their all five or six combinations of subjects in 12th class.

CBSE 10th and 12th Compartment Examination 2025 Rule

The compartment examination is also known as supplementary examination in CBSE. Students who do not achieve at least 33% marks in one or maximum 2 subjects in CBSE 10th and 12th Board Exams 2025 are able to sit in the compartment examination. It is the extra chance given to the students by the board to pass the 10th or 12th board class which helps them to save their academic year. 

The board provide Total 3 options to the students a academic year where if the candidate fail to maintain at least 33% marks in the first compartment examination then will be invited into second compartment and will follow the same procedure for three times. It candidate fail in all 3 chances then they need to study 10th class again in the new academic year and will allowed to appear in the CBSE board examination in the next year.

CBSE Grading System 

National education policy is emphasising the importance of implementing the Grading system in schools. However CBSE is already following the grading system in 10th class and also providing grades to students in their 12th class result along with subject wise marks accordingly.

CBSE follows nine stages of the grading system between A1 to E, where A1 is the excellent performance and E grade is showcasing lowest performance. CBSE provides grades to the students by following this procedure :-

CBSE guidelines for answering a question 

CBSE conducts the board examination with multiple types of the questions including short answer type questions where candidates are required to answer the question directly within a short paragraph of 50 to 100 words, Long answer type questions were candidates are required to complete the answer under the word limit of 350 and essay type answers where Candidates are usually asked to write the application, article, story or other detailed answers of the questions where you need to complete the answer within 600 to 700 words.
